Make Your Hair Soft
|
There are numerous ways to make your hair soft. From simple methods such as conditioning hair, to interesting home remedies like mayonnaise or lemon juice.
The easiest way to make your hair softer is to simply condition it. Rinsing it with cold water has better results than warm water. Certain hair care products will claim to be better than others in this department, but for the most part any conditioner will do, even off brand products. Dollar General, Wal-Mart and other similar stores have their own hair care products for around five dollars, and are just as effective as the name brand products you could spend up to fifty dollars on.
Another extremely easy way to make your hair appear softer is to get a water softener. A water softener removes chemicals, such as calcium, that have been shown to make hair appear rougher. There is a very obvious difference in your hair when using a water softener. For proof, try washing your hair for a week with one and then return to your normal, hard water and you will notice a drastic difference. A home remedy that has shown to help make hair softer is using mayonnaise on just the surface of your hair, making sure to avoid the scalp due to the chance of making your hair appear greasy. Simply rub the mayonnaise through your hair, all the way out to the tips, and then let it sit there for a few minutes before washing it out. It sounds very odd, but time and time again it has shown to be effective. Another home remedy to make your hair softer is to use lemon juice, but this is only recommended if you have light color hair, as the lemon juice can accidentally stain your hair a lighter color. You would look very odd walking around with a light spot on your head while the rest of your hair is a much darker color. For this remedy, simply take a lemon and squeeze the juice into your hair and move it around with your fingers. Evenly spread all of the lemon juice in your hair, and voila, your hair now appears softer.
Finally, it is recommended to never brush your hair when it is wet. That can cause all sorts of problems. Combing is okay, however. Don't try to force your brush through snarls as this can cause irritation and end up making your hair look much worse than when you started out. Instead, try using one of the methods listed in this article to work your brush through it. You will have much better results. |
